The Division 2
The Division 2 review
The Division 2 is a looter shooter game by Ubisoft. The developers have taken into account the weak points of the original game and now offer a more comprehensive experience.
Gameplay: A Proper Sequel
Division 2 is an example of a great sequel. The original game had some major issues that were repulsive to many players, but with The Division 2 the developers have taken into account most of the complaints to the original. For example, there is now much more end-game content to discover: world tiers, time-limited events, bosses and so on. Now the game is able to provide content for hundreds of hours, which is essential to a looter shooter.
The core of the gameplay remained the same: it is still a third-person view shooter with covers. However, the enemies are now smarter and more diverse, encouraging the players to move and not to hide all the time.
Graphics: Well Lit
Division 2 is not a benchmark for modern graphics. It is important to understand that the game is an MMO and the developers have to make their audience as large as possible by lowering the system requirements and working on the optimization. The latter is great in The Division 2: the game runs properly on most PCs.
Overall, the graphics are not bad: the light work compensates the visual imperfections and the game does indeed look beautiful from time to time. In general, the graphics are a bit lower than average for 2019, the year of the game’s release.
Controls: Nothing New
The controls in The Division 2 are almost the same as in the original game. It is no surprise, as the controls were great in The Division and there were no reasons to change them majorly. As the player you can rotate the camera, move your character, switch guns, use utilities, and, of course, aim and shoot.
The controls are very intuitive and easy even for players who are not familiar with the first part of the series.
Tons of endgame content: world tiers, events, bosses and more;
Good optimization and light work;
- High online stats, meaning the game will be supported.
- The game still gets a bit repetitive after a while;
- In case you have a strong PC, you won’t be impressed by the graphics.
