Mario Kart Tour
Mario Kart Tour review
Mario Kart Tour is a mobile racing game by Nintendo. It is a spin-off to the popular Mario Kart series and offers a very similar gameplay process for Android and iOS platforms.
Gameplay: A Bit Greedy
Nintendo has released this game as an opportunity for mobile gamers to join the classics and to check out their famous Mario Karts. Sounded like a great idea, and at first glance, it is a great game indeed. There are lots of characters to unlock, there are many unique characters, and there is even a multiplayer mode. However, the progression system is a bit concerning: the game is free to play and at some point it nearly forces you to unlock content for money, instead of farming it for free.
Graphics: Karting on Mobile
The graphics are pretty decent in Mario Kart Tour. The characters are recognizable, the tracks are pretty diverse, and the backgrounds are rather attractive. Nintendo have managed to transfer their unique style of Mario Kart games to mobile and reach a decent level of optimization. The game runs properly on most mobile devices, has high frame rates and smooth animations. The visual effects and the characters themselves are as always beautiful.
Controls: Smooth Ride
The controls are quite interesting in this game as they are impressively highly customizable. It is easy to learn Mario Kart Tour, but it is as hard to master it. The controls are customized in several ways to help you reach perfect performance: you can toggle steering assistance, select from two steering modes, change the auto use of items settings and even choose between racing in the portrait mode or in the landscape mode.
- Classic gameplay carefully transferred to mobile;
- Famous Nintendo’s characters in all their beauty;
- Dozens of different tracks to master.
- The game contains greedy in-game purchases;
- The progression system in general is pretty controversial.
